Finding The Perfect Mens Fragrance
Some masculine mens fragrances are chosen as a personal choice, liked by some but hated by others. Women know exactly what they want their dream man to smell like. Men will find an aftershave they like and stay loyal to one brand, not realising it’s not suited to them or is too musky, sweet or heady. I managed to narrowed it down to five brands – the best potions available to turn a lady’s head from 20 paces away!

1. CK IN2U For Him – Calvin Klein
Calvin Klein launched this mens fragrance in 2007. This was one of the most popular fragrances adored by women, and although it was aimed at a younger market, there was a fair share of older ladies liking this scent on a man. Being a sweet aromatic fragrance with lemon and tomato leaf top notes makes it fresh, whilst cacao pod, followed by vetiver, cedar and white musk bass notes add just the right amount of masculinity to knock ‘em dead.

2. 1 Million – Paco Rabanne
This mens fragrance received fantastic feedback from the girls. There is a range of 1 Million for both sexes, but it’s the male aftershave that outsells the female scent due to its effeminate quality – some women claim to wear it over their version. That doesn’t mean this is a girly perfume for men – on the contrary; if women love it on their men, Paco Rabanne must be doing something right. Top notes of orange, grapefruit, mint, cinnamon, rose and light leather are mixed with white wood. The heart of this fragrance beats notes of patchouli and amber, a scent sure to make a any girl swoon.

3. Amber Pour Homme Intense – Prada
Prada’s latest mens fragrance to leave their house is a more intense version of their first aftershave, a warmer and more velvety scent. Woody scents mixed with hot and spicy middle notes resemble something that the gingerbread house in the forest out of the Hansel and Gretel fable might smell of. Finishing the whole fragrance off, Patchouli and white vanilla add heat, and bergamot, spicy hot resin of myrrh and woody notes create the perfect love potion.

212 Men – Caroline Herrera
212 Men is very versatile and can be worn by all ages. It’s warm and spicy base notes create a sophisticated and verymasculine fragrance. Bass notes come from a mix of labdanum, sandalwood, musk, guaiac wood, vetiver and incense. A concoction of ginger, green pepper, gardenia, violet and sage make up the middle notes, whilst the top notes are a fresh fusion of spices, petit grain, lavender, grapefruit and bergamot, finishing this masculine mens fragrance off with a touch of sweetness. This fine fragrance is sure to make any girl go weak at the knees.

5. Baldessarini – Hugo Boss
Hugo Boss’ came up with the slogan: “Separates the men from the boys,” for this mens fragrance. Baldessarini is a masculine concoction of metal, blended with fresh, spicy notes into an exotic, sensual aftershave. The initial notes to hit your nose are oranges, mint and mandarins. At the heart, patchouli flower, cumin and cloves add spicy notes, whilst the heat comes from a mix of sandalwood, spruce, patchouli leaves, tobacco, ambergris and musk bass notes. Don’t be a boy, be a man! – the girls will come running!
I hope these five mens fragrances inspire experimentation in your quest for the perfect potion. My number one was Carolina Herrera’s aftershave 212 Men as it came up the most as a favourite among the ladies. Go and bowl the ladies over and discover that mens fragrance that works for you and the women.
